Members I advise that Lew Cooper passed away in St Vincent’s Private Hospital Rehab Ward of Thursday night (11/04/2019) after 4 weeks of treatment at Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital then a further 6 weeks of rehab at St Vincent’s Private. He was expecting to be discharged on Thursday, however his health took a unexpected turn for the worst on Tuesday and he passed away peacefully with family by his side.
Lewis “Lew” Cooper OAM was a former outstanding Queensland Cricket Wicketkeeper, a very successful Club Manager and Sports Administrator, he was an innovator and a proactive & significant advocate for Cricket in Queensland. Lew was a Life Member of CMAA and Qld Cricket plus a host of other cricketing bodies and organisations.
